Election is a process with several steps and milestones including Party Registration, Voter Registration, Ward, Zone, District, Constituency and Polling Unit Delineations; Party Primaries, Candidate Processing, eventually culminating in Voting, Vote-Counting/Vote-Collation, Declaration of Result and Announcement of Winner.
It is the full gamut of these processes that is described as the “Electoral Process”.
INEC is the key institution managing the processes while the Courts Adjudicate across the processes from start to finish.
At every stage and compartment of these processes, the actions and inactions of INEC, the Courts, the Government of the day, and the interface between the Gladiators and the Umpires (INEC and the Courts), impact directly and significantly on the terminal process (Voting/Counting/Collation/Result-Declaration/Announcement of Winner) and therefore the outcome of the Election.
Considering what INEC, the Courts and the Ruling Party, APC, have done so far in course of the Pre-Voting Stages of the 2027 Presidential Election Process to sabotage, weaken, disorganize, factionalize and generally debilitate the opposition Parties, anyone talking about the 2027 Presidential Election being FREE, FAIR or CREDIBLE is either Dishonest or Ignorant.
When a Delegation of Catholic Bishops visited Aso Rock Villa to report the suffering and pains of the people, and to register their own concerns about the brazen manipulation of the 2027 Electoral Process, Tinubu simply dismissed the complaints and concerns raised by the Delegation in a manner that simply confirmed the complicity of the Government in those issues of concern raised, particularly his infamous declaration that ALL IS FAIR IN POLITICS, signaling his endorsement of the manipulations, intimidation, violence and other malfeasances that completely destroy the credibility of the 2027 Electoral Process.
If there was any doubt about the complicity of the APC and its Topmost Leadership including President Tinubu, in the ongoing manipulations on the road to 2027 Presidential Election, that doubt is cleared by the outlandish Declarations made by the FCT Minister, Wike, concerning how the Presidency allowed the outcome of the 2026 Osun Governorship Election, as well as the more recent confession of the same Minister Wike on live National Television about how the redistributive manipulation of votes in the 2023 Presidential Election was executed to produce victory for APC and Tinubu.
Everything considered, it will be tantamount to criminal-level naivety to expect that the 2027 Presidential Election Process which has been so openly manipulated and rigged will suddenly become Free, Fair or Credible, and so the disastrous outcome of that Election (if it holds) is not difficult to predict.
It is important to note that the Chief-Enabler of the brazen manipulations that have characterized the 2027 Electoral Process is the Unitary Constitution of Nigeria which by its Exclusive List, centralizes all powers over Elections in Nigeria in the hands of the Federal Government by way of the aforementioned institutions (INEC and Judiciary), superintended over by the President of Nigeria who is also contesting for a second term in the 2027 Presidential Election.
It is against the backdrop of the foregoing that NINAS will reiterate its Union Reconstruction Proposition to suspend the doomed voyage to another round of futile Elections in 2027 under the Death-And-Misery-Dispensing Unitary Constitution of Nigeria and to instead of Elections, initiate an immediate TRANSITIONING Process to first Rework the Damaged Constitutional Foundation of Nigeria since the woes of Nigeria flow from that Constitution, irrespective of who emerges President.
