Attempt by Congressman John James to Cite the Conviction and Sentencing of Nnamdi Kanu for Terror as Evidence of Christian Persecution in Nigeria Is Grotesque and Driven by Either Ignorance or Dishonesty

The video clip of the grotesque, misaligned, and grossly misleading comments of U.S. Congressman John James at the Congressional Hearing on 20 November 2025 on Christian genocide in Nigeria—where he cited the conviction and sentencing of Nnamdi Kanu as an example of Christian persecution and genocide in Nigeria—has been exploited by the IPOB propaganda machinery to create the false impression that Washington is conducting a hearing into the conviction and sentencing. This should not feature on an informed platform such as this.

Congressman John James was an implant by Attorney Bruce Fein (the so-called international lawyer of Nnamdi Kanu) at the Congressional hearing on the mainly Christian genocide in Nigeria, and his contribution to the proceedings of the Committee stood out grotesquely as either ignorant or dishonest when he chose the terror convict Nnamdi Kanu as his example of Christian persecution in Nigeria.

Bruce Fein—who knows far more about the truth of what is going on in Nigeria—had, for reasons he would have to explain himself, chosen to join Nnamdi Kanu in the sordid scam and business of hoodwinking ignorant, Biafra-seeking Igbo multitudes with all manner of propaganda, including constituting himself into a phantom “UN Working Group” that supposedly issued orders to Nigeria to release Nnamdi Kanu unconditionally.

Obviously reading from the script of Bruce Fein, Congressman John James only polluted the smooth-flowing hearing of the Congressional Committee when he threw in the case of the conviction and sentencing of Nnamdi Kanu for widespread, multidimensional terror and killings (particularly in the mainly Igbo East of Nigeria) as an example of the persecution of Christians in Nigeria—even when Nnamdi Kanu’s IPOB is flagged and documented by the Government of the United States as a terror gang tormenting the Church and Christians in Nigeria. (See below an excerpt from the April 2020 USCIRF Report, which listed IPOB alongside Boko Haram as entities tormenting the Church in Nigeria.)

The United States Commission for International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), in its April 2020 Report, listed IPOB along with Boko Haram as entities terrorizing the Church in Nigeria.

Also, in November 2025, the U.S. State Department advised Ex-Mayor Mike Arnold—who had in recent times been on the frontlines of evidence collation in the ongoing genocide in Nigeria—to keep away from IPOB, which is regarded by the U.S. Government as a violent gang, for the sake of his own reputation. (See below the 11 November 2025 X post of Mike Arnold reporting this U.S. State Department advisory.)

Nov 11, 2025: Mike Arnold, on X, confirms the negative status of IPOB with the U.S. State Department and cautions against bringing IPOB or anything “Biafra” into the current U.S. policy actions on Nigeria for ethnoreligious killings, particularly the CPC redesignation of Nigeria and the impending U.S. military action on Nigeria.

Even before Bruce Fein jumped onto the Nnamdi Kanu–IPOB bandwagon, he had had limited dealings with LNC–NINAS, and so he is fully aware that “Biafra restoration” is a scam and that

Nigeria’s core problem is structural—stemming from the imposed unitary 1999 Constitution on a union that must be federal if it is to be safe and progressing.
