Social media space recently went abuzz with the September 10, 2026 New York Times story of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s decision to sever herself from Nigeria permanently and not set foot on her Country of Birth ever again following the loss of her 21-month son to medical negligence at a Hospital in Lagos, an incident she said had profoundly changed her relationship with Nigeria.
First is to commiserate with Chimamanda for that painful loss especially in the circumstances reported as it fits into the grim parlance of “Nigeria happening to People” in Nigeria.
It is very sad that it took Nigeria happening to Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, for her to be jolted into realizing that the Bloodthirsty entity and Criminal Enterprise masquerading as ‘Nigeria’ is a Man-Eating Monster that must be avoided by all means, as that entity is totally different from the Nigeria that Chimamanda and millions of others felt attached to even in the midst of mind-boggling failures and dysfunctions.
Sad because her epic work, “Half of a Yellow Sun” by which she sought to fictionally recreate the Tragedy of the Nigeria-Biafra War on the Igbo-East, indicates a level of consciousness that suggests a more-than-passing-interest in what has become of the Nigeria that levied a genocidal War on itself in its Eastern Region, and went on to impose a Death-Dispensing, Talent-Incinerating, Anti-Development and Anti-Progress Unitary Constitution on itself since 1979, reinforcing it in 1999 to the utter Damnation of the fraction of humanity called Nigerians, and by extension, Africa and the Black man, globally.
It is that Unitary Constitution by which One-Nigeria is codified and enforced, that locks down every imaginable potential and possibility for Nigeria’s Economy, Security, Infrastructure, Healthcare, Education and Governance Infrastructure.
The Federation of Nigeria died in July 1966 and was buried in a macabre ceremony that lasted between 1967 and 1970 in a cemetery called Biafra, with Britain as the Chief-Undertaker and Yakubu Gowon leading the Funeral Procession.
Those who murdered the Federation of Nigeria, exhumed the carcass and dressed it up in the garment of the dead Federation and began to operate it as a Unitary State that holds the trapped constituent Peoples of the Defunct Federation of Nigeria in a Union-at-Gunpoint that they called One-Nigeria, renowned for Stealing, Killing and Destroying.
- It is that Unitary Nigeria that snatched the precious and innocent life of little Nkanu in one corner of Lagos.
- It is that Unitary Nigeria that Chimamanda is severing all relationships and attachment with.
- It is that Unitary Nigeria that snatched the 2023 Electoral Mandate from Candidate Peter Obi and Coronated as President, the fellow who is now fighting tooth and nail in Washington DC to block the release of FBI/DEA Criminal Investigation Records relating to Heroin trafficking.
Tragically, it is that same One-Nigeria that Candidate Peter Obi says he believes in (as he did in 2023, encouraged by many celebrities) and vowed to protect by all means if elected President in 2027.
Perhaps Chimamanda will now begin to understand the rationale for the NINAS Campaign to Dismantle and Reconfigure the Union of Death Unitary Nigeria has become for its constituent Peoples,
Perhaps Chimamanda will now begin to understand the umbrage of her Igbo Kinsmen and Kinswomen at Peter ObI’s declaration of love for One-Nigeria and who insist that Elections mandated by the Unitary Constitution of Nigeria, cannot be the pathway to Igbo Liberation from the Stranglehold of the Monster currently masquerading as Nigeria across the geographical space that once housed the Defunct Federation of Nigeria.
This note of commiseration and diagnostic insight for why Nigeria is where it is and the pathway to redemption, should also serve as an invitation to those who lament the disaster Nigeria has become, and who had to flee Nigeria-the-monster, to pay attention and join the Union Reset Processes being driven by the Nigerian Indigenous Nationalities Alliance for Self-Determination NINAS as encapsulated in the Prescriptions of the NINAS Constitutional Force Majeure Proclamation of December 16, 2020 since permanent exile is not the solution to the troubles of the Homeland.
