AND the Electoral Reforms which some youth groups in Nigeria are canvassing as the Redemption pathway for Nigeria, Tony Nnadi of NINAS wrote as follows:
 
“Everything said by Cosmos Maduka here about a level playing ground for Nigeria to work for all, begins and ends with the Constitutional Arrangements of Nigeria. What is not in doubt is that Nigeria is in a terrible place at the moment and there is an urgent need to move it to a better place. Neither will the solution come from asking the Nigerian youth to go out there and sacrifice their lives in their thousands for a totally undefined Revolution. 

The Big Question is: HOW can we take back Nigeria from those who have seized it for decades? In other words, how can we take Nigeria from where it is now to where we desire it to be? 

If we truly seek to apply our energies towards solving the problem, the first rational step in trying to answer those questions will be to determine what exactly is wrong with Nigeria because that is what will determine exactly what has to change; like a DIAGNOSIS that will determine a PRESCRIPTION which will in turn determine the TREATMENT Plan, in that order so that our energies can go straight to attacking the real problem whether by way of a “Revolution” or any other form of Mass Action. If we fail to do this simple thinking, we will proceed in ignorance and utter Misdiagnosis which will result in failure or even greater disaster than the problem we set out to solve.

It is in this regard that we must dress back for a moment to ask ourselves whether it is just a question of bad individuals in government, or whether there is a deeper STRUCTURAL problem constantly producing only bad individuals in the place of power in Nigeria. In other words, is it just a question of Bad Leadership and the corruption, impunity and incompetence that comes with bad leadership OR that the Ground Rules are designed up to produce and protect only charlatans and renegades in places of power? 

If the problem is that of a STRUCTURE that produces the terrible outcomes that characterize Nigeria including BAD LEADERSHIP, gross insecurity, massive corruption, impunity, serial electoral robberies and the like, then our anger and energies would be better directed at the actual problem. If on the other hand, the problem is that of Bad Leadership that is abusing and manipulating Systems to produce the outcomes we now lament, then our anger and action will be directed at finding a better Leadership.

It is against this backdrop of reasoning that I posit, unequivocally, on behalf of NINAS, that the multi-dimensional problems of Nigeria, including Bad Leadership, Corruption, Impunity and Electoral Malfeasances flow from the imposed and untenable unitary Constitutional Arrangements of Nigeria AND therefore that the Solution to the Nigerian Situation would require something deeper than mere change of Leadership which can be enacted by Elections and Electoral Reforms.

In order words, it is the imposed Unitary Constitution of Nigeria that took Nigeria from the People and handed it to the criminals who have been driving Nigeria into deeper ruins for decades now. To Take back Nigeria will necessarily entail the overturning of that IMPOSED Unitary Constitutional Order and the reinstatement of a NEGOTIATED Federal Constitutional Arrangement.

Except we choose to operate in misdiagnosis, ignorance or reverse logic, the “Revolution” Nigeria needs most urgently is one that will compel a Constitutional Reconstruction of Nigeria as that will install a STRUCTURE that works instead of dissipating our energies in seeking Change of Leadership and Electoral Reforms under a Death-Dispensing Unitary Constitution by which the winner of any Elections in Nigeria must swear and govern, no matter how free, fair and credible such Elections might be.

It is therefore our Prescription that in place of Electoral Reforms, all available energies be channelled to the demand for the initiation of an immediate TRANSITIONING Process, inside 2025 for the wholesale Constitutional Reconstruction of Nigeria instead of wobbling on with preparations for another round of National Elections in 2027 under the same unworkable and unnegotiated 1999 Constitution. 

There might be some who erroneously believe that the problem NINAS is pointing to will be solved by Constitution Amendments when the right Leadership emerges through a freer, fairer and more credible Election that could come from Electoral Reforms. That belief is a grave error because that Unitary Constitution of Nigeria (1999) locks out any possibility of Rule of Law or any form of Good Governance, neither is it within the Powers of whoever will emerge in the place of power from any Election mandated by the 1999 Constitution, to change that Constitution to anything that might work. Not even the National Assembly of Nigeria can cure the Foundational Constitutional Anomaly that NINAS is pointing to.

We know for certain that if a fraction of the energies that are being expended to seek Electoral Reforms that will not address the deep-seated problems bedevilling Nigeria is directed at seeking the Constitutional Reconstruction of Nigeria in 2025 as NINAS is pressing for, we will take Back Nigeria fully, earlier than 2027.

Let us also bear in mind that the Fulani Conquest Onslaught and Killing Spree is not abating or slowing down for 2027 to come AND nothing short of crashing the 1999 Constitution (which Pa Olusola Ajolore recently described as the Title-Deed of the Fulani over Nigeria), will halt the Fulani Southward sweep in their Murderous Conquest Campaign and that in itself, drastically cuts short the time we might think we have to experiment with two more cycles of Elections in 2027 and 2031 apart from other factors that might overtake everyone, including an unled, undefined and chaotic, bloody revolution that might degenerate into anarchy, chaos and Somalia-type prolonged disorder.

Finally, for the Distressed Federation of Nigeria, there is no Revolution more comprehensive, more consequential than the orderly Delegitimization and Decommissioning of Nigeria’s Unitary Constitution (1999) as being prosecuted under the Five-Point Union Reconstruction Proposition of the NINAS Constitutional Force Majeure.”
